Edmonds police can’t say how woman died

EDMONDS — Investigators didn’t find any obvious signs of trauma to the body of a woman discovered Friday morning along Highway 99.

It will be up to the medical examiner to determine how the woman died, Edmonds police Sgt. Don Anderson said.

The woman likely had been dead for some time. Investigators on Friday were unable to determine her age or any other identifiers, Anderson said.

Someone called police just before noon to report the body lying next to a building in the 21700 block of Highway 99, between a building and some railroad ties, Anderson said.

Police continue to investigate.

Seattle: Pharmacy burglar faces prison

A Shoreline man faces up to 20 years in federal prison for his part in an elaborate pharmacy burglary scheme in Snohomish County.

Colin D. Walmsley, 31, was the latest defendant to plead guilty to crimes associated with break-ins at pharmacies in recent years.

Walmsley acknowledged receiving thousands of pills from burglars and distributing large amounts of oxycodone, morphine, methadone and other prescription drugs, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Seattle. He sold the vast majority out of a home he has in Snohomish County. Investigators searched his residence in Shoreline and recovered drugs and six guns.

He also admitted that he and another pharmacy burglar broke into a video game store in Lynnwood and stole computer game equipment.

He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 30.

Everett: Motorcyclist injured in collision

A 50-year-old Everett man was injured after he hit a pickup truck while riding his motorcycle in the 7100 block of Evergreen Way on Friday.

The accident occurred about 5:40 p.m. in heavy traffic, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said. The man was taken to the Colby campus of Providence Medical Center in Everett with non-life-threatening injuries.

The pickup, driven by a 34-year-old Everett woman, pulled out into traffic and was hit by the motorcyclist, Goetz said. The woman not injured.

There were no indications that alcohol or excessive speed was a factor, Goetz said. The accident was still under investigation Friday night, he said.
