EVERETT – Residents of an apartment complex in the 3900 block of Rucker Avenue were evacuated this evening when an Everett Police Department SWAT team was called in to help arrest a suspect wanted on a warrant.
The man was hiding in a crawl space, said Sgt. Ryan Dalberg, a member of the Everett Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team. The warrant was for possessing stolen property, Dalberg said.
Police took the precaution of having other residents of the complex wait in an alley behind yellow crime scene tape while the apartment unit was searched after 6 p.m.
“We had reliable information he was here,” Dalberg said. “He decided to hide. A member of my team was able to talk him out of his hiding space.”
