EVERETT — An Everett High School student, whose severely beaten body was found on a middle school football field Saturday, died Sunday evening at a Seattle hospital, officials said.
The victim died about 5:25 p.m. at Harborview Medical Center, said Sgt. Boyd Bryant of the Everett Police Department. He was identified today as 15-year-old Joshua Lorbiecki.
Witnesses observed Lorbiecki in the company of two young black males shortly before he was discovered unconscious about 2:15 p.m. Saturday on the Evergreen athletic field, police said. He was airlifted from the field to Harborview in Seattle.
A lot attendant at Dwayne Lane’s Dodge at 7800 Evergreen Way was walking around the parking lot when he saw two young men standing over someone lying on the football field. He sent for another employee to check on the man while he called police.
Lorbiecki was unconscious and having trouble breathing at the time.
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call the Everett Police Department’s tip line at 425-257-8450.
