EVERETT — A man who died in an apartment fire Sunday has been identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Christopher R. Blair, 50, of Everett, died of asphyxia due to smoke inhalation, an autopsy found.
The fire broke out shortly after midnight at a unit in the Parkside Apartments, in the 900 block of West Casino Road.
Blair was found unresponsive in a bedroom where a mattress was on fire. Officials believe the flames may have been ignited by a cigarette.
