EVERETT – Undercover Everett police officers arrested 10 men Thursday suspected of trying to hire prostitutes.
Two female officers posed as decoys during the sting operation, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Efforts focused on both the north and south ends of the city, locations based on known prostitution activity and resident complaints.
The locations worked included the 1400 block of Broadway and the 9100 and 11000 blocks of Evergreen Way, Goetz said.
Police plan additional stings throughout the summer months.
“This is a reminder to both johns and prostitutes that the person you are contacting on the street might be a cop,” Goetz said.
All 10 men arrested were cited and released.
In a separate incident, a19-year-old Seattle woman was arrested in Lynnwood early Friday.
The woman, a suspected prostitute, stabbed a would-be customer during a dispute over the price of her services, according to a police affidavit.
The man was sent to the hospital with stab wounds to an arm. The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree assault.
