The 18-year-old male was booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of murder, drive-by shooting and assault.

Everett

EVERETT — Everett police arrested an 18-year-old male on Tuesday in connection with a June 26 fatal shooting on Evergreen Way.

The department’s anti-crime team, violent crime unit and major crimes detectives arrested the man at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an Everett Police Department social media post.

Detectives identified a person of interest using Flock Safety System License Plate Reader Cameras and confirmed his identity throughout the investigation, police said.

The man was booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, drive-by shooting and first-degree assault. His bond is set at $2 million.

At about 10:40 p.m. June 26, a neighboring law enforcement agency notified Everett police that two victims with gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital. One victim, a 21-year-old male, died from his injuries. The second victim, an 18-year-old male, survived and was later released from the hospital.

After investigation, Everett police determined a shooting had occurred earlier that evening in the 7700 block of Evergreen Way. Police found shell casings at the scene.

According to court documents, the shooting occurred at Big 5 Sporting Goods. The two victims, along with a driver who was not injured, met the suspect to do a gun trade, the driver told police. The surviving victim told police he and the other victim were members of MS-13, an international criminal gang. He also said he believed the shooter was part of MS-13, and they had set up the deal through Instagram.

The car the victims were in at the time of the shooting had five bullet impacts, according to the documents.

Documents said the suspect had been named in a number of previous Everett Police Department reports. In 2023, he threatened to kill a student at his high school. In 2024, police arrested him for unlawful possession of a firearm.
