EVERETT — Few new details came to light Friday as the investigation continued into the homicide of a 69-year-old Everett woman.
An autopsy has been completed, but
officials aren’t releasing a cause or manner of death until they can confirm the woman’s identity, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The woman, named in court papers as Leslie Pedersen, was found dead Wednesday at her home at the Mobile Country Club in the 1400 block of 84th Street SE. Everett police detectives found clear signs of homicide at the scene.
On Friday afternoon, Pedersen’s family released a statement asking for privacy. The statement was released through Families and Friends of Violent Crime Victims, a nonprofit victim advocacy group.
“We are a family in mourning and need to be left alone at this time,” the statement says.
Everett police say they have not identified any motives or suspects. The woman’s husband is missing, and so is a Jeep associated with the family.
A search warrant filed Thursday said police seized various items from the home and an Everett storage shed, including a sword and knives.
A relative told police the woman’s stepson and his girlfriend were seen visiting the home over the weekend. The stepson recently had been released from prison, according to court papers.
Police ask people to call 911 if they spot a 2010 black Jeep Patriot with Washington license plate ABZ 7996. The front license plate had been replaced with a Marine Corps decorative plate.
Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the Everett police tip line at 425-257–8450.
