EVERETT — An Everett woman received a suspended jail sentence Thursday for attempting to have two husbands.
Holly Lovett, 31, pleaded guilty earlier this year to attempted bigamy. Prosecutors alleged that Lovett married a man in December 2009 while she was still married to another man.
Her first husband said he had learned from his mother in-law that Lovett had married another man and was living with him at a south Everett apartment.
Detectives obtained copies of the marriage certificate and an application for marriage license the woman sought with the second man. The suspect had used her maiden name on the marriage application and reported she was single, court papers said.
Lovett was sentenced to 364 days in jail with all the time suspended. She is on probation for two years and must not commit any new crimes.
