ABERDEEN — An explosion at a Bonneville Power Administration substation in Aberdeen Saturday evening temporarily knocked out power to about 1,000 homes.
BPA spokesman Mike Hansen in Portland, Ore., told the Daily World of Aberdeen thata small metering transformer failed and then exploded. No injuries were reported.
Grays Harbor PUD spokeswoman Liz Anderson said district crews restored most power by Saturday night.
BPA is the federal power agency that supplies electricity to the PUD and utilities in the region.
