Meetings will offer foster care information
In honor of Foster Care Appreciation Month, Youthnet will hold a series of informational open houses throughout Snohomish County.
Times are 6-8 p.m. at the following locations: Tuesday at the Everett YMCA, May 18 at the South County Senior Center in Edmonds, and May 23 at the Boys &Girls Club in Arlington.
These sessions will offer information on licensing and the duties of foster parents and will highlight the need for foster care.
Youthnet, a nonprofit organization serving youth in a five-county region for more than 36 years, is looking to increase the number of available foster homes in the county.

Help EvCC help Boys &Girls Club
Everett Community College students are collecting art supplies and games for the Boys &Girls Club of Snohomish through May 12.
Students are seeking new or gently used donations of coloring books, crayons, balls, jump ropes, board games, art supplies and other items for the Boys &Girls Club children’s game room.
The drive is sponsored by EvCC’s Student Activities Office.
Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays at EvCC’s Student Activities Office, Parks Student Union Room 209. Everett Community College is located at 2000 Tower St.

Lake Stevens solicits city park adopters
The Lake Stevens Park Board is encouraging groups or individuals to participate in the city’s Adopt-a-Park program.
Participants are asked to remove litter at least four times a year for a two-year period. The city will drop off and pick up safety vests and trash bags.
Applications for adopting a park are available at the city permit office behind City Hall, 1812 Main St.
