Links to local and state primary election results
EVERETT — Levies in four Snohomish County fire districts appeared to be passing in early election results posted late Tuesday, as did an emergency medical services levy in the city of Mill Creek.
Fire and EMS levies on Tuesday’s primary ballot include Fire District 7 in Clearview, District 17 in Granite Falls, District 26 in Gold Bar and District 28 in Index.
Also passing with 81 percent of ballots counted was a proposed merger of Fire District 3 in Monroe with neighboring District 7. Those two districts already joined administrations earlier this year. They anticipate proceeding with the total merger Oct. 1, if election results hold up.
None of the fire and EMS levies were close contests based on those early results, with the county reporting nearly 71,000 ballots counted.
In other election news, in the city of Mountlake Terrace, a levy to pay rent for the interim City Hall and improve parks appeared to be narrowly passing, with just more than 50 percent of ballots counted so far. It netted 954 yes votes versus 943 no votes.
That proposal, Proposition 1, would tax property owners within city limits an additional 44 cents per $1,000 of assessed value. Of the 44 cents, 25 cents is a permanent tax for parks and recreation. The other 19 cents is a four-year levy for a new City Hall.
