EVERETT — An electrical fire has left a dock at the Port of Everett’s marina without power since late January. It is expected to be another two weeks until power is restored, said Lisa Lefeber, Port spokeswoman.
In the meantime, a handful of people living aboard boats moored at the marina have had to move to other berths where they can plug in.
A small fire broke out in a junction box around midday Jan. 21. The cause is still unknown, port officials said.
The fire, which quickly was put out, cut power to three docks with covered slips in the marina.
Electricity was soon restored to two docks, but a third, H Dock, sustained more significant damage and is still without power. Five people were living aboard boats at H dock. They have moved elsewhere in the marina until electricity is restored, Lefeber said.
