MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Police are looking for a former student who confronted a Mountlake Terrace High School student Wednesday, allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to kill him.
A 17-year-old boy was returning to campus from lunch about 11 a.m. when a former student drove into the parking lot in a white compact car, Sgt. Mark Connor said.
The student knew him and told police that the two had a confrontation a few weeks ago. At that time, the youth also brandished a gun and threatened to kill him, Connor said.
In Wednesday’s incident, the former student told the youth he was mad at him and if the student said anything further that upset him, he would shoot the boy, Connor said.
The former student then got into the back of his car and pulled out a handgun. The boy ran inside the school, but waited about an hour before he told the school resource officer about the incident, Connor said.
The former student’s last known address was in Kenmore, but he may frequent or live in Mountlake Terrace, Connor said.
Police don’t know the cause of the initial confrontation.
