Free health screenings in Bothell
Bothell firefighters plan to offer free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings during February as part of Bothell Heart Month.
Firefighters will be in high-traffic areas to conduct screenings, provide information about risks and inform participants of warning signs of heart disease and diabetes.

The American Heart Association also designates February as American Heart Month.
Groundfrog day in Snohomish: Forget the groundhog.
Come hear Snohomish Slew’s “frognostication” during this annual festival that runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at First Street and Avenue A in downtown Snohomish. A jump rope contest, songs and frog painting complete the day.

Recycle your old cellphone: Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is recycling cellphones. Even without service, cellphones can call 911 when charged. Phones may be dropped off at the New and Again Thrift Shoppe, 3116 Rucker Ave., Everett, which is open Tuesday through Saturday.
