Democrats meet: Stanwood Mayor Leonard Kelley will be the speaker at this month’s Stanwood Democrats meeting, 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stanwood Community and Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW. Kelley will give an update on city business. The public is invited.
Poetry reading: Jessica Gigot, a poet and a farmer from Bow, gives a reading at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hibulb Cultural Center, 6410 23rd Ave. NE, Tulalip. Library plans: A proposal to expand the Evergreen branch of the Everett Public Library is getting closer to reality, with construction possible in early 2018. The plans call for adding space and about 36 more parking stalls. Branch manager Alan Jacobson recently noted that input from the public is still needed.
