Healthy aging forums
The Snohomish County Council on Aging’s Healthy Aging Committee offers a pair of free forums for seniors:
Everett: 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Everett Yacht Club, 404 14th St.
Stanwood: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Stanwood Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW
There will be workshops on identity theft, falls prevention, dental health, hospitalization and end-of-life health care decisions, along with exhibits, resources, refreshments and door prizes.

Return of the Salmon Celebration
Sultan’s annual Return of the Salmon Celebration runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Osprey Park, 801 First St. The free family event is in a covered venue and happens rain or shine.
Beginning with a Native welcoming at 10:30 a.m., the event features an honoring of Sultan’s namesake, Chief T’seul-ted, along with riverside tours, horse-drawn covered wagon rides, hatchery tours and fish release, vendors, kids activities, Native storytellers and musicians and artists.
There also is a timed 5k ($20) and 1-mile fast walk ($15), with day-of registration starting at 9 a.m.

Fancy a cycle?
Sport your finest woolens for the Snohomish Tweed Ride, which starts at 11 a.m. Saturday from the historic Snohomish Carnegie Library, 105 Cedar Ave., Snohomish. Check-in starts at 10 a.m. Toodle along the Centennial Trail and then stop at the Machias Trailhead Park for tea, sweets and diversions. Pack a picnic lunch and tea cup. Tickets are $15, or $22 for table seating.
Dress code is Victorian, Edwardian — even steampunk — but no Lycra, jeans or other modern garb. There will be a costume contest for the most dapper and dandily dressed gents and ladies.

How to treat feral cats
The Community Cat Coalition offers its free “Basic TNR: Trap, Neuter, Return” class, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Woodinville Fire Station, 17718 Woodinville-Snohomish Road. An orientation to the group precedes at 11:30 a.m. Registration requested.

Teen advisory group
Edmonds seeks a student representative for its Diversity Commission. The term is for one year. Applicants must be 16 to 25 years old, live in Edmonds, be able to meet 6 to 8 p.m. first Wednesdays, and read materials ahead of time. Attending an Edmonds school is not required.

Deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. Friday.
