Recycle electronics, foam

Responsibly recycle the old electronics and packing foam you’ve stashed away from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Edmonds Community College, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Follow the signs at the 68th Avenue W and 200th Street SW entrance.

There also will be a station to shred and recycle paper. Packing peanuts are not allowed. This event is free.

Study your past

“Organized Research From Cradle To Grave” is the topic of a meeting at 1 p.m. March 12 at Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society Library, 6111 188th Place NE, Arlington.

Lori Lee Sauber will talk about how to organize research. This lecture provides A-to-Z guidance for managing a genealogical research project. Free and open to the public.

School play

Cavelero Mid High School Drama Club will present a live performance of “Mary Poppins Jr.,” from March 21-23 at the school, 8220 24th St. SE, Lake Stevens.

The play starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. General admission is $12, and $7 for students, seniors and military.

Tax help

AARP tax aides will be at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island, on Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 11. Free tax preparation help to anyone of any age especially if you are over 60 and cannot afford paid tax preparation. Call or stop by the center for a list of tax assistance that is available and to schedule an appointment.

Culture night at EHS

Everett High School will host Culture Night from 5:30 to 8 p.m. March 13 at the school’s main gym at 2416 Colby Ave. “Culture night is a night for students to share their culture with their community. Come join us to enjoy a night full of performances, some food samples, face painting, and music from all over the world.” The event is free, and this year’s theme is “REP Everett around the world,” according to the invitation.

Performers include students and others such as Mariner High School’s step team and Western Washington University’s Baile Folklorico team.

Learn about fire operations

The city of Marysville is placing a measure on April 23 special election ballots, asking people to vote on forming a Regional Fire Authority.

All are welcome to learn more at two meetings this month — from 4 to 6 p.m. March 19, at 17500 E. Lake Goodwin Rd., Stanwood; and from 4 to 6 p.m. March 26, at 100701 Shoultes Rd., Marysville. Officials will be there to answer questions.
