Green gardening tips: The city of Everett is offering workshops on natural yard care techniques — green gardening practices that make gardens easier to care for and healthier for families, pets and the environment. The free workshops will be held at Eisenhower Middle School, 10200 25th Ave SE, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and April 26. Register for the events at https://Everett.Eventbrite.com.
Join police class: The next Lynnwood Police Department Citizens Academy class will start in January. The most recent class had 42 graduates. The free 14-week program teaches the public about police procedures and techniques. Many students go on to become volunteers for the city or police department.
A similar shorter class, called Lynnwood University, focuses on the inner workings of city government. That class starts Sept. 8.
