Staff from U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen’s office plan to meet with constituents at the Lynnwood Public Library to address concerns with federal agencies.
In the past, congressional staffers have assisted people with Social Security issues, disability benefits for veterans, federal tax refunds, immigration questions and federal retirement benefits. Larsen’s office expects to schedule similar sessions monthly. The meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The address is 19200 44th Ave. W, Lynnwood. More info: 425-252-3188.
Foster a pet: The Everett Animal Shelter will hold a training session for prospective foster pet owners, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday . Foster homes are needed for cats as well as kittens and puppies. Foster pet owners must be at least 18, pass a background check and be able to get started right away. The shelter is at 333 Smith Island Road. More info: everettwa.gov/181/Foster-a-Pet.
Airport Appreciation Day: The Arlington Airport Appreciation Day is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arlington Municipal Airport, 19204 59th Ave. NE, and Arlington Flight Services, 18810 59th Drive NE. It includes free airplane rides, tractor rides, flight simulators, face painting, helicopter tours and free food. The Rescue Run, a 5k or 10k, starts at 9 a.m. to benefit search and rescue crews.
