Front Porch: Dickens Fair at Lake Stevens school Saturday

Dickens Fair

The annual Dickens Fair runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cavelero Mid High School, 8220 24th St. SE. The event features more than 130 vendors, student performances and Santa.

Admission is a donation (cash or nonperishable food) for the Lake Stevens Food Bank. Shuttle service is available by donation through the Lake Stevens Kiwanis Club from Lake Stevens Middle School and Hillcrest Elementary School.

Santa breakfast: The American Legion Auxiliary of S. Al Wilcox Unit 234 and the Mountlake Terrace Community Senior Center invite the public to a Santa breakfast to benefit local children, 9 a.m.-noon Sunday at 23000 Lakeview Drive. Enjoy ham, eggs, pancakes, fruit and drinks, plus meet Santa. Cost is $6, $4 ages 3-10, free for kids younger than 3.

Donations will be accepted for Holly House (requests include teen-size pajamas, footballs, basketballs and soccer balls). For more information, call 425-776-5490.

Employment class: Housing Hope and Edmonds Community College offer “Tools for Employment and Education Success,” a free two-week class series, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays on select dates in Everett and Lynnwood. The class is offered Dec. 5-16 and Jan. 16-27 in Gateway Hall 103 at EdCC, 6600 196th St. SW, Lynnwood, and Jan. 9-20 in the Mount Bakerview Apartments classroom, 3210 18th St., Everett.
