Day of Dance in Lynnwood
Chat with a doctor, learn to manage stress and dance at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center’s Day of Dance, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.
Both the event and parking are free.
More than 80,000 people around the country are expected to participate in Day of Dance events, organized by Spirit of Women hospitals.
The Spirit of Women is a coalition of medical centers that aims to offer educational health events.
Dance groups will demonstrate salsa, ballet, tap, jazz and other dance forms. After each performance, visitors will have a chance to learn a few moves. Children can play, color and listen to their heartbeats.
English class offered
The Lake Stevens Family Center offers a weekly class for native speakers of Spanish who want to improve their English skills.
The Talk Time class is 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Lake Stevens Baptist Church, 1702 Main St.
Instructor Luisa Vazquez provides a relaxed, conversational approach to beginning English. Free child care is provided.
