Korean War memorial dedication: A Korean War memorial will be dedicated Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Lynnwood Veterans Park, 44th Avenue W and 194th Street SW in Lynnwood. The memorial was a project of Boy Scout Troop 49.
Wednesday is the 64th anniversary of the start of that war.
The park is on the Lynnwood Civic Center campus, just south of the Lynnwood Public Library.
The ceremony will be attended by Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith, City Council members, Korean War and other veterans and Boy Scouts.

Buses and July Fourth holiday: Community Transit buses operate near fireworks stands, but riders cannot carry fireworks onto buses at any time, the agency says. Even “safe-and-sane” fireworks sold in some communities can be a hazard.
Community Transit also prohibits other potentially dangerous material, including fuels like gasoline and propane, chemicals, explosives and illegal weapons.
July 4 is one of six major holidays on which Community Transit does not operate. There will be no bus or DART paratransit service that day, and the RideStore and Customer Service phone lines will be closed as well.
All services will return to regular schedules on July 5.
