Light rail open house
Sound Transit plans an open house on Thursday to discuss a future light-rail station at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center. The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nile Shrine Country Club, 6601 244th St. SW. The stop is one of three included in the northward expansion of Link light rail from Northgate to Lynnwood in 2023. For more information, go to www.soundtransit.org/lynnwoodlink. “The Long Night”: A free screening of the Tim Matsui documentary about minors forced into the sex trade is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist, 8109 224th St. SW. Matsui will not be at the screening, but speakers include Snohomish County sheriff’s detective Joan Gwordske and Elysa Hovard, of Cocoon House.
Sew Thoughtful: This month’s charitable sewing project by the Snohomish County Clothing and Textile Advisors is baby quilts for the nonprofit Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday in the Cougar classroom behind the WSU Extension office at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
