Cold-weather shelter
The South Snohomish County Emergency Shelter Network expects to be open through Sunday. People need to meet at Lynnwood City Hall, 19100 44th Ave. W, by 7 p.m. They will be taken to the shelter or given directions if they have a car.

Road closure: Alderwood Mall Boulevard is expected to be closed from 2 p.m. today to 2 a.m. Sunday for repairs after a sewer collapse. The closure is from 33rd Avenue W to 40th Avenue W. Detours are available but expect delays.
Watch the Hawks on the big screen: The Historic Everett Theatre is hosting a family-oriented opportunity to watch Seattle’s Jan. 11 playoff game. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. The event is free, and snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine are available at the theater’s snack bar. The theater, at 2911 Colby Ave., seats 806. Children are welcome.
Sandwiches from Red Rock Subs can be ordered ahead of time by calling the ticket office at 425-258-6766, or go to www.historic everetttheatre.org. Deadline for sandwich orders is 5 p.m. Friday.
