Mobile dental clinic
The SmileMobile, a rolling three-chair dental clinic, will be coming to Everett July 7-18. It will be at the Everett Boys and Girls Club, 2316 12th St. The program is for children from birth through high school. Low-cost examinations are available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 9. Follow-up treatments will be provided the remainder of the stay. Highway 530 work: Starting as soon as today, contractor crews working for the state Department of Transportation will start clearing vegetation on a hillside near the east side of the mudslide along Highway 530. The work will last about a month and is necessary to prepare for the construction of the new elevated roadway. If you are traveling through the area between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., plan to add about 10 minutes to your trip.
Fundraiser: Great Strides, an annual event to raise money for cystic fibrosis research, is scheduled for July 12. The event is at the Tulalip Amphitheater, 10400 Quil Ceda Blvd. in Tulalip. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the three-mile walk starts at 10 a.m. There will be kids’ games and craft activities, a live band and free lunch sponsored by Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que.
