Wedding show
The first Port Susan Wedding Show will show brides and grooms the beauty of the area, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road. Admission is free.
Caterers, cake decorators, florists and photographers have signed up to be there, as have the owners of places in Stanwood and on Camano Island that can be reserved for wedding ceremonies and receptions. A fashion show planned for 1 p.m. will highlight bridal gowns and other wedding attire.

Volunteers needed: The Island County Sheriff’s Office seeks people to join their citizen patrol. Volunteers are responsible for checking on homes while owners are away on vacation, processing concealed weapons permits and delivering materials between the Camano and Whidbey Island offices. Candidates must pass a background check and complete a training program. Applications are on the sheriff’s office website, or call 360-629-4523, ext. 7310.
History talk: The Lynnwood-Alderwood Manor Heritage Association plans a local history talk at 10 a.m. Saturday at the senior center, 19000 44th Ave. W.
Yemeni talk: The Friends of the Edmonds Library meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the library, 650 Main St. Yemeni students from Edmonds Community College are to speak. Admission is free.
