Front Porch: Property tax levies under consideration in Mill Creek

Mill Creek considers property tax levies

The Mill Creek City Council has scheduled a public hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday to set the property tax levies for 2015 and review other revenues. The meeting is set to take place at City Hall, located at 15728 Main St.

People may also submit written comments to the City Clerk before to the hearing. They may ask questions about the property tax levies.

USS Ingraham to be honored: The guided missile frigate USS Ingraham (FFG 61) will conclude 25 years of naval service during a decommissioning ceremony Nov. 12 at Naval Station Everett.

Several former crew members, plankowners, friends and family are expected to attend. Former Secretary of Defense Robert D. Gates is scheduled to be the guest speaker and join the crew in honoring Ingraham and her 25 years of service.

Ingraham will be transferred for dismantlement Jan. 30.
