Scouting’s 103rd year
The Mount Baker Council of Boy Scouts of America holds a celebration dinner and auction, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds support the character-building programs that benefit nearly 8,000 Scouts in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties. Seattle TV personality John Curley will serve as auctioneer.

YMCA honors veterans: To honor military personnel and their families, two YMCA of Snohomish County branches will offer specific programming as part of Military Family Month.
The Marysville Family YMCA will offer Military Family Night, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The evening will include dinner, door prizes, swimming, dodgeball, basketball and other fun games. The building will only be open to military families. Military identification is required.
The Monroe Family YMCA will hold Free Fridays every Friday in November for all past and present military personnel and their immediate families. Military identification is required.
In addition, on Monday, the facility will be open for free for veterans all day long.
