Play with donkeys
A donkey basketball game is planned for April 7 at Snohomish High School.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at 1316 Fifth St. Teachers will participate from all of the elementary, middle and high schools against members of the senior class. They will ride donkeys while playing basketball.
Tickets will be sold from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Boys &Girls Club, 402 Second St., or at the door. Tickets cost $4 to $9.

Herald news partner honored: For the second year in a row, KIRO 7 “Eyewitness News” has won the National Headliner Award for both Best Newscast and Coverage of a Live Breaking News Event.
The Best Newscast of the year was KIRO 7’s “Eyewitness News at 11” on Nov. 29, 2009. The station reported on the killing of four Lakewood police officers in suburban Tacoma.
The award for Coverage of a Live Breaking News Event was for the Amanda Knox verdict announced in Italy on Dec. 4. The station also received second place in the Breaking News Event category, for coverage of the Lakewood killings.
Join the band, set a record: Attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the largest string ensemble under one roof.
String Jam ’10, open to musicians playing violin, viola, cello and string bass, is planned for 7 p.m. April 10 at Juanita High School, 10601 NE 32nd St., Kirkland.
