Wine festival
The Snohomish Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its sixth annual wine festival for Saturday. It is expected to feature 20 wineries, mostly from Washington.
The festival is to be held at the Snohomish Event Center, 1011 Second St. Tastings are scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. VIP tickets allow access to either session in addition to a private tasting from 5 to 6 p.m.
Tickets start at $30. They include a commemorative wine glass and an appetizer plate. Tickets are available online at snohowinefest.com or at the event.
Baha’i documentary: The Snohomish County Baha’i community hosts “Education is Not a Crime,” starting at 7 p.m. March 5 in the Black Box Theatre at Edmonds Community College, 20310 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. The event includes a screening of Maziar Bahari’s documentary, “To Light A Candle,” which focuses on human rights violations in Iran against members of the Baha’i faith. It will be followed by a panel discussion. Admission is free.
Spring forward: Sunday is when we lose an hour for daylight saving time. Lake Stevens firefighters will be outside the Haggen and Jay’s Market from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday to remind folks to change their clocks and check smoke-alarm batteries.
