Horse arrives today: Imagine Children’s Museum welcomes a life-sized wooden horse to its “Rise and Shine Farm” exhibit starting Thursday.
The horse was designed and carved by woodworking artist Jackie Wilson, of Oklahoma, who gained worldwide attention when one of her rocking horses was requested as a birthday gift for royal tot Prince George. This particular horse is an original and was designed for Imagine Children’s Museum.
To celebrate the horse’s arrival, which will be delivered by Wilson, Imagine is offering half-price admission from 3 to 7 p.m. Visitors can meet Wilson bwtween 3:30 and 6 p.m. and participate in a horse-naming contest.
Self defense: The Snohomish County Republican Women’s Club meeting Thursday will focus on self-defense tactics. The club meets at 11 a.m. at Shawn O’Donnell’s restaurant, 122 128th St. SE, Everett. Lunch is optional and costs $15 in advance. To RSVP, contact Frauna Hoglund at frauna.erv@gmail.com.
Shop on: The New and Again Thrift Shoppe benefiting Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is holding a holiday open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at 3010 Grand Ave., Everett. Coffee, cookies and other goodies will be served and holiday items will be 50 percent off.
