Yard sales: New Heart Place holds its Giant Yard Sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday (or early entrance for $5 per family from 9 a.m. to noon), 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Westgate Chapel, 22901 Edmonds Way, Edmonds. Bus barn moving: The Edmonds School District is getting closer to moving its bus barn. The new location at 20601 52nd Ave. W. in Lynnwood is almost complete, district spokeswoman Amanda Ralston said.
After the move, the buildings at the old site — nine acres along Alderwood Mall Boulevard — will be demolished. That property, which is visible from I-5, is likely to go up for sale in the fall. “The school board decided that it makes more economic sense to sell the site,” Ralston said. The barn houses a fleet of about 150 buses.
Eat pancakes: Lake Stevens firefighters plan their annual Aquafest Pancake Breakfast from 6 a.m. to noon July 30 and 31. The location is Fire Station 81, 12409 21st St. NE. The meal also includes ham and eggs. Attendees are asked to make a donation, and proceeds are used for scholarships and community projects. A news release says, “Start your Aquafest weekend with an awesome pancake breakfast and meet your local firefighters.”
