Through November, state Department of Transportation crews will be blasting rock on Highway 522 near Echo Lake Road between Monroe and Woodinville. Expect traffic delays.
The blasting will continue intermittently 10 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays where crews are building a new intersection. Traffic will be stopped for each blast, and an air horn warning signal will sound before each big boom. Nearby residents might notice the ground shaking along with the noise.

Corrections
* Children can trick-or-treat at stores in downtown Snohomish 4-5 p.m. Sunday. An Our Towns item on Page B3 Tuesday listed an incorrect day for the event.
* Mary Drott, a 57-year-old Snohomish resident who suffered two strokes in 2000, told Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash, in Everett on Monday that she is struggling with health care and living expenses and urged the senator to push for cheaper prescription drugs. Drott said the drug costs were putting her and her husband under financial stress, but she did not say what proportion of the couple’s Social Security disability income went for drug costs. Information in the story about the cost of drugs in relation to their income was incorrect.
