Which waters need to be cleaned?
The state Department of Ecology seeks comments about which polluted bodies of water should get cleanup plans in 2005.
Each year, the department makes a list of polluted waters planned for cleanup, and asks the public to review the list. So far, cleanup plans have been developed for 270 of Washington’s almost 700 polluted lakes and streams.
See the current list at www.ecy.wa.gov/ biblio/0410040.html or call 360-407-6480.
Send comments by June 24 to Ron McBride, Department of Ecology, P.O. Box 47600, Olympia, WA 98504-7600 or e-mail rmcb461@ecy.wa.gov.
Corrections
* People who ordered berries from the Snohomish Rotary Club will need to pick up their orders at one of three locations. Strawberries will be available on June 16, raspberries on July 14 and blueberries on July 28 at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, 3105 Pine St., Everett; Evergreen District Court, 14414 179th Ave. SE, Monroe; and First Presbyterian Church, 1306 Lakeview Ave., Snohomish. To order, call 360-568-5629. An Our Towns item on Page B3 Monday incorrectly stated how customers would receive their orders.
* Phylicia Rashad became the first black actress to win a Tony award for a leading dramatic role when she was honored Sunday for her performance in “A Raisin in the Sun.” A reference item on Page A1 Monday misstated Rashad’s achievement, but the story on the Tony awards on Page A2 had correct information.
