That 747 with the distinctive blue-and-white paint job is back in town. A U.S. Air Force information officer confirmed that Air Force One is visiting the Boeing Co.’s Everett plant for what he called routine maintenance.
There are actually two Air Force Ones – identical 747-200s built in Everett that have been used as presidential transports since 1990. The plane arrived Monday afternoon, but unlike previous visits, this time it’s not parked in a place where it can be seen from Highway 526.
The planes return every 12 to 18 months for maintenance at Boeing, said Bruce Goetz, superintendent of operations at Paine Field. “He typically just shows up unannounced,” he said. “We just look out, and there he is.”

Don’t leave kids or pets in the car
With temperatures pushing 90 degrees in much of the state, the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect reminds parents and caregivers about the dangers of leaving children unattended in hot cars.
That advice applies to animals, too.
