The 14th annual Collectors Car Show and Flea Market is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. today at Camano Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive on Camano Island.
Car show trophies will be awarded based on popular vote in six categories; stock up to 1931, stock 1932-48, stock 1949-59, stock 1960-75, stock 1976-current, trucks and modified street rods. A Best of Show trophy will also be awarded.
In addition to the car show and flea market, there will be entertainment all day.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Camano Island’s Meals-on-Wheels program.
Edmonds offers back-to-school fair
Edmonds School District offers a Back-to-School Community Resource Fair 1:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.
You can register kids for school or enroll them in Head Start; get immunizations (bring shot records for the Snohomish Health District), vision and hearing screenings; and learn about free school clothing, government programs and social services.
Fifty free haircuts by salon stylists also will be offered.
Food bank needs school supplies
The Sky Valley Food Bank is collecting school supplies to give to students who would otherwise have to do without.
The “School Days Rule Days” project requests donations of all types of school supplies. Bring them to 784 Village Way in Monroe 8-11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, or 5:30-7 p.m. Mondays through Sept. 15.
All she needs now is a helmet
Trish Hanrahan won a brand-new Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom motorcycle from the Washington State Lottery.
“It’s about time,” said Hanrahan, an Everett native and Harley fan. “I’ve been dreaming about this feeling for many, many years.”
Hanrahan purchased her winning scratch ticket at the Thomas Lake Shell Station.
Her bike is worth more than $15,000.
