Megan Camper of Edmonds is dancing the leading role of Clara in "The Nutcracker" segment of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
Megan, 12, a student at Meadowdale Middle School, was among the many local dancers who auditioned for a role in the traveling show. All dancers were required to be 10 to 14 years old and have ballet and pointe training.
"I am so excited to have the chance to dance with the Rockettes," Megan said. "’The’ Nutcracker’ is one of my favorite ballets, and I have always wanted to dance the part of Clara."
Megan has danced for three years at Olympic Ballet in Edmonds, performing in supporting roles in productions of "The Nutcracker" and "Madeline." This year, she also will play Clara in Olympic Ballet’s annual production of "The Nutcracker."
The Radio City shows continues through Dec. 7 at the Paramount.
Earlier this year, tough new federal privacy rules went into effect for hospitals and doctors.
Now, unless a patient gives explicit permission, hospitals are not allowed to confirm whether the person has even been admitted to the hospital.
Have you or someone you know been admitted to a hospital lately and your loved ones been unable to find out because of the new privacy rules?
