Voter registration deadline coming up
Time is running out for people who want to vote in the Feb. 19 Washington state presidential primary but still need to update their voter registration.
Voters who have moved within the state must update their registration by midnight Saturday.
For voters who moved within Snohomish County, changes can be made between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. today by calling 425-388-3444. Changes also can be made in person at the county auditor’s office, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
Voters who have a state driver’s license or state ID card can change their registration at www.secstate.wa.gov.
Voters also can print registration forms from that Web site. Mailed registration changes must be postmarked no later than Saturday.
The secretary of state and Snohomish County Web sites have more details about the primary. For Snohomish County details, go to www.snoco.org and search “presidential.”
The state set up a MySpace site for the presidential primary election at www.myspace.com/secstatewa.
First-time voters not registered in Washington state have until Feb. 4 to register in person for a presidential primary ballot. Snohomish County plans to mail ballots Jan. 31.
