Share your holiday cards with the world
Maybe you snapped a picture just as your toddler was yanking on Santa’s beard.
Or the whole family posed in matching elf-wear.
Or your dog sported fake antlers.
Those priceless photos are part of your hilarious homemade holiday cards — and all the world should see them. Send cards to The Herald so we can post them online. The cards can be from this season or past years.
Send your photos or the whole card by e-mail to jdavis@ heraldnet.com or mail to The Herald, attn. Jim Davis, P.O. Box 930, Everett, WA 98206-0930. You can also drop materials off at our office at 1213 California St., Everett.
The cards must be original work, and people submitting the cards must ensure that they can be reprinted. Include the name of the photographer or artist, a daytime phone number or e-mail address and the names of the people photographed. Include a short description about the card and what makes the season so special for your family. Deadline is Dec. 20.
Donate stuffed animals to patients
Merry Haven Care Center, 800 10th St. in Snohomish, seeks stuffed animals or dolls for senior residents to receive as Christmas presents. Please drop off donations before Dec. 18.
Garbage service may be delayed
Road closures due to the wind and rain storm may limit garbage collection.
Waste Management says if curbside garbage or recycling is not collected, customers should remove the containers from the street. Up to twice the regular amount of garbage and yard waste will be accepted at no additional charge on the next regularly scheduled collection day unless you get a special notification.
There is no limit on the amount of clean recyclables accepted.
Extra garbage can be put in tied plastic bags or 32-gallon cans with handles and lids, 65 pound limit, labeled “garbage.”
Extra recycling should be put in plastic recycling bins or cardboard boxes labeled “recycling.”
