Senior center Christmas dance

The Snohomish Senior Center plans a Christmas dance from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1514 Pine Ave., Snohomish.

This event is the final day of the center’s tea dance class, which is taught by Colleen Dobbins, who held such classes in England. Participants are set to waltz, fox trot, quickstep, rumba and tango.

The cost is $7 for members of the senior center, $8.25 for nonmembers.

Residents are invited to chat with Mountlake Terrace city manager John Caulfield during Coffee with the City, a series of monthly meetings.

This month’s meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Recreation Pavilion, 5303 228th St. SW.

Free coffee is provided. All questions about city events, issues, programs and services are welcome.

Matthew House seeks donations

Matthew House, a nonprofit ministry, is collecting canned foods, small turkeys, hams, holiday foods and Christmas gifts for children. The group helps families in need who have relatives in prison.

The ministry gives food to more than 5,000 families a year and gives Christmas gifts to children.

People may send cash donations to Matthew House, P.O. Box 201, Monroe, WA 98272. Or they may drop off canned food or gifts at Matthew House, 16207 177th Ave. SE, Monroe.
