Volunteers of America plans a Buses for Baseball event Tuesday at Safeco Field in Seattle with several Seattle Mariners players.

High school student volunteers and 55 elementary and middle school students will be welcomed by Action Team player J.J. Putz and other Seattle Mariners players.

The elementary and middle school students all have incarcerated parents served through Volunteers of America Western Washington programs.

Red Cross seeks fundraising champs

The American Red Cross Island County Chapter is looking for individuals or organizations interested in planning a one-day fundraiser to help support the chapter.

The event can be any type of fundraiser.

The chapter will work with participants to ensure the event’s success. For additional information, call Barbara Johnson at 360-257-2096 or e-mail her at johnsonb@ islandredcross.org.

Volleyball coming to Everett center

The Association of Volleyball Professionals Crocs Tour is expected in Everett on Feb. 14.

It’s the first national indoor beach volleyball tour.

Western event to benefit center

To raise money for seniors’ and children’s programs, the Stanwood Community and Senior Center is organizing a Western Roundup barbecue and auction for Aug. 25 at the Harvey Arabian Horse Farm Arena, 29901 80th Ave. NW.

The South End String Band plans to entertain, and Jack Archibald acts as the master of ceremonies. Kelley’s BBQ is scheduled to cater the event with a barbecue and all the fixings.

The festivities begin at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $40 and are available by contacting Terri Riffle at 360-629-7403, ext. 114.

Artists sought for walk in Old Town

Artists who would like to have their work displayed during the Art Walk in Old Town Mukilteo on Aug. 29 can do so by contacting the Mukilteo ARTS Guild.
