The Assistance League of Everett is hosting a dinner and auction Saturday to benefit those in need throughout Snohomish County. The event is 5 to 10 p.m. at the Hansen Conference Center at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave. Two auctions are planned — one silent and one live. The latter begins at 7 p.m. Airline tickets, artwork, weekend getaways and dinners with international themes are just a few of the auction items.

Join a Camp Fire USA club

Camp Fire clubs are forming around Snohomish County.

Any child 3 years old or older can become a member. Clubs are organized by grades, and entire families may join a Community Family Club. Clubs meet after school, on evenings or on weekends.

Clubs aim to be a safe, fun environment; involve families; celebrate diversity; encourage leadership; and respond to community needs.

Buy wreaths for fundraiser

Quilceda Community Services, a nonprofit agency serving adults with developmental disabilities since 1976, is selling handcrafted evergreen wreaths to help fund programs.

The wreaths are made with noble and Douglas fir, cedar, ornamental evergreens, and various hollies, junipers, twigs, rose hips and so on.

Wreaths will be available for selection before Thanksgiving.

Lakota Harden speaks Tuesday

Activist Lakota Harden will speak at Everett Community College at 11 a.m. and noon Tuesday.

Meet at Everett Community College Parks Student Union, 3000 Tower St. in Everett, in honor of Native American Heritage Month.

Harden is a community organizer, speaker and poet. She was involved with the American Indian Movement.
