Parents seeking information about licensed child care have a new resource.
The state has a new Department of Early Learning licensed child care information system. To view it, go online to http://www.del. wa.gov/ccel/index. shtml, scroll down and click on Online Services, then click on Licensed Child Care Information System.
Rachael Langen, director of the Division of Child Care and Early Learning, said the new agency will consolidate child-care and early-learning programs scattered through several agencies.
The information system will include:
* A search engine allowing faster and more accurate searches for child care;
* Contact information about licensed care providers;
* A toll-free telephone number for state early-learning officials;
* Complaint history about valid and inconclusive complaints since July 24, 2005;
* The number and age range of children for whom each provider may provide care.
