The Snohomish County Cattlemen’s Association offers a Beef Cattle Ranch Tour and Educational Field Day 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 29 at River’s End Ranch in Monroe.
There will be information on controlled grazing, efficient cattle feeding, health management, equipment and marketing beef.

Students answer book questions
The second annual Snohomish Smackdown will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Snohomish Public Library, 311 Maple Ave. Teams of Centennial and Valley View middle school students will answer questions about 24 books they have been reading since January. Bring goods to support troops
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040 and its Ladies Auxiliary seek donations for troops overseas.
They are collecting hard candy, baby wipes, suntan lotion, hand lotion, toothpaste, playing cards, blank greeting cards, crossword puzzle books, letters of support and money for supplies at the USO at McCord Air Force Base.
You can deliver goods 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday at the fire station at 18818 44th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.
Bid for playhouse at the home show
Raffle tickets for a playhouse built by Pacific Ridge Homes will be sold this weekend at the Everett Home and Garden Show to benefit KidsDream.
KidsDream is an organization that helps abused and neglected children in Snohomish County by granting wishes, sending kids to summer camp and providing older teenagers with household and back-to-school items and clothing for kids.
KidsDream is raising money for a building that will allow all five of its programs to operate under one roof. The Home and Garden Show will be at the Everett Events Center.
