A new program allows groups of at least five Snohomish County households to team up to get free energy assessments.
The Team Up and Save program offered by the Snohomish County and the Snohomish County Public Utility District gives customers personalized reports so they can prioritize how to save energy.
The program examines insulation, windows, heating systems and duct work for each household, as well as appliances, electronics, thermostats and lighting. A report recommends simple, low-cost improvements and energy investments.
Assessments normally cost about $500.
Participants also get a $125 rebate for qualifying refrigerators carrying the U.S. government’s ENERGY STAR label. PUD customers with electric-heated homes may qualify for insulation incentives.
To join, five or more households need to submit application documents together. For instructions and applications, go to www.snopud.com/cpassessment or call 425-783-1700.
