SNOHOMISH – A proposed expansion Harvey Field would lower property values and cause noise problems and safety concerns, according to a group of residents who attended a Snohomish City Council meeting Tuesday night.
Beth Jarvis, who lives near the airport, said the people concerned about the airports expansion are forming a group and putting together a petition to oppose it. About 20 people voiced opposition to the proposal during public comments at the council meeting.
The 148-acre airport is in the citys urban growth area. Kandace Harvey, the airports owner, hopes to double the airports hangar space and stretch a runway beyond the airports current boundaries over the next 20 years.
