LAKE STEVENS — People expecting to roll through southwest Lake Stevens on Highway 9 will need to find another route this weekend.
Crews are set to close the highway at South Lake Stevens Road from 7 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday to build a roundabout at the intersection. They’re poised to finish paving and install curbing, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The highway will be closed between 20th Street SE and 32nd Street SE. South Lake Stevens Road also will be closed.
The detour through Lake Stevens directs drivers to Highway 204 and U.S. 2. Signs guide local detours.
Travelers may see crews working on landscaping in the intersection in the next three weeks.
Another closure for lane striping at the roundabout is expected later this month.
