JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD — The Army says about 200 members of the 47th Combat Support Hospital return tonight to Joint Base Lewis-McChord after a year in Iraq.
The unit operated hospitals near Tikrit, Mosul and Al Asad, providing surgical and nursing care to military personnel in northern and western Iraq.
Meanwhile, a memorial service is scheduled this afternoon in the North Chapel at the base for a soldier killed in Afghanistan.
Spc. Kyle J. Wright, 22, of Romeoville, Ill., was killed Jan. 13 by a roadside bomb in Kandahar Province.
He was a member of the 5th Stryker brigade that deployed in July to Afghanistan.
