MUKILTEO — Lithium batteries sparked a fire in a Mukilteo home Monday, officials said.
The fire started in the kitchen of a house along 104th Place SW. Crews arrived shortly before 12:40 p.m.
The batteries were charging on the kitchen counter, said Assistant Fire Chief Brian McMahan. Wires from solar panels dangled from the roof and ran through the kitchen window.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was ruled accidental. The damage was estimated at $175,000.
