EVERETT — A stretch of southbound I-5 in Everett was closed intermittently Saturday afternoon after a two-car crash left one driver injured.
The freeway just south of 128th Street SW was to be closed “off and on” while troopers investigate, said Washington State Patrol Sgt. Anthony Califano. Northbound I-5 will remain open.
Califano said the crash involved two drivers, one of whom was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence. The other driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.
No estimate was available for the highway’s reopening, but Califano said traffic would likely be “stop and go” for at least an hour.
